Built by artists, for artists
Music software mostly gets built for the people with budgets, then sold down to the people making the music. This is an attempt at the reverse — including the part where you get to change it.
An independent artist runs a small business with a catalog, a touring operation, a mailing list, a set of contracts and a pile of receipts. The software for each of those pieces was built for somebody with a staff — a label, a management company, a promoter — and then repackaged and sold to the artist at a price that assumes the same staff.
So you end up with six subscriptions, none of which talk to each other, most of which charge your fans a fee on the way past, and all of which own the list of people who love your music. Musavise is one login across the whole job, and the parts that cost money are the parts that cost us money.
